Honestly, there is no way to be confident of that correct now since Samsung did not truly comment about this topic, here’s what tends to make me feel it will not: Hours ago Samsung altered the hardware of the Galaxy SIII, changed the RAM from 1Gb to 2Gb, solely for the objective of it getting able to receive the update without any trouble and to retain it “future-proof”, which worries me because a lot of millions have a Samsung Galaxy SIII with 1GB of RAM, so they may possibly not get this update. If they do not, then the Note will not get the update either and that is a promise. If the 1Gb RAM model Samsung Galaxy SIII gets the update, then there’s a slight possibility the Note gets it but remember, the SIII has nonetheless has that quad-core CPU and the Note has a dual-core, so it may still not meet Samsung’s hardware specifications. I say Samsung because the Google Nexus S will get the Jelly Bean update with only 512Mb of RAM and a single-core CPU, and if history repeats itself, Samsung will drop assistance for the Note and the SII just like the Galaxy S. I am a Note owner and my opinion, I think there’s a 60% possibility it’ll get the update and a 90% possibility that, if it does get the update at all, we won’t see it until fall or even winter this year. Here’s hoping Samsung confirms an update for both the Note and the SII.

Having waited long time for Samsung’s Jelly Bean updates (for I727R), I switched to LiquidSmooth RC9. I resisted flashing my phone for long time hoping to stick to Sasmung’s upgrades, but over the past month I had terrible freezes that rendered my phone non-useable for the most time. Since I switched to LiquidSmooth I am very happy. It is very smooth and stable. I will stick with it until a newer version or CM has a final release of 10.1. Even then, I find it’s not a huge leap from 4.1 to 4.2.

I prefer CM10. Since Jelly Bean Liquid has some elements based off of CM10. In terms of performance and battery, once I installed CM10, I haven’t changed the ROM since. I feel like I’m getting the full potential out of my device in almost every aspect.

The i727r will be fine, it’s actually the device I was using in this video. Personally I switched to the official CM10 (videos in my channel). They’re a lot more stable. Samsung and Rogers are expected to release Jelly Bean for the i727r but it’ll be delayed a while and come packed with a lot of garbage software. Also don’t expect Android 4.2 from Samsung, you’re better off waiting for CM10.1 (Android 4.2) in the future. As I mentioned, for now I recommend CM10 (Android 4.1)

As i can see you live over Brampton area so it should be good for me too. What’s gonna happen when rogers release the original rom after installing this one? By the way, thank-you.

I only noticed GPS problems when it came out of the box with TouchWiz GB, in fact even Bluetooth didn’t work most of the time, had to leave it on 24/7. Every ROM I flashed since then has worked much better than Samsung’s Android releases, including GPS. In general Jelly Bean is the fastest version of Android I’ve used.

I haven’t tried an update since this video, I’ve switched to the official CyanogenMod 10. It’s still in experimental mode but is amazingly stable, it should be a release candidate, I made a demo video on it in my channel, just about everything works. As for Sky Jelly Bean, I wanted to try it and post it in my channel but I quickly read through the change log and it seems to have quite a few bugs left to fix. Hope that helps.

I’m still running stock Rogers ICS and I really want a taste of JB. Since I don’t flash ROMs very often, I really want something that already has everything I need working. Have you updated to RC5? And with the speaker problem, do alarms still work?

I’m trying to decide between this Liquid ROM and Sky JellyBean. Have you tried Sky JellyBean?

Hit the “Show more” button in the YouTube video description and hit the link to the video I made on how to install the ROM. In that video I provide a link to the developer’s forum where he provides the latest version. As of right now he’s actually on RC4. Hope that helps.
